EDC welcomes the new BSP Governor and DOH Secretary

EDC welcomes Mr. Eli M. Remolona Jr. as the new Governor of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) and Council member in place of former Gov. Felipe M. Medalla as the Presidential Communications Office announced his appointment on 23 June 2023.

Gov. Remolona brings his extensive experience in central banking, economic policy, international finance, and financial markets to the agency. Before he was appointed BSP Governor, he was a Professor of Finance and Director of Central Banking at the Asia School of Business in Kuala Lumpur. BOC COLLECTION DISTRICTS 

For information and easy reference of the concerned  stakeholders, please be guided by the Bureau of Customs (BOC) visual presentation of the Bureau’s principal ports and sub-ports location on the Philippine map.

The BOC Collection Districts, also known as Ports are supervised by a District Collector assisted by Deputy District Collectors as many as necessary, a District Collector also has jurisdiction over Sub-ports.

A Collection/ Customs District has a designated “principal port of entry” and each principal port of entry has its “sub-port(s) of entry”.

Below are the seventeen (17) Collection Districts identified by the BOC.

Launching PEDP 2023-2028: Philippines as Agile Export Powerhouse

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. approved the new Philippine Export Development Plan (PEDP) 2023-2028, presenting the Philippines as an agile export powerhouse; designed to accelerate the development and growth of exports in key industries. The plan was presented by the Trade and Industry Secretary Alfredo Pascual at the press briefing organized by the Presidential Communications Office on 06 June 2023.

The Export Development Act of 1994 mandated the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) to lead the crafting of the plan, to help uplift the country’s exports performance. The PEDP was developed by the Philippine exporting community under the leadership of the Export Development Council, with supervision from the DTI and in collaboration with key national government agencies and the Philippine Exporters Confederation, Inc. PEDP and PDP aligned to achieve the PH sustainable development goals

Both the PEDP 2023-2028 and PDP were aligned to achieve the PH sustainable development goals, with the former focused on export development as the lynchpin of the economy.

The two plans working together will serve as the platform for attaining the Sustainable Development Goals in 2030 and the Philippines’ AmBisyon Natin towards a prosperous, inclusive and resilient society by 2040,

BOC and DICT to foster an integrated information and communication technology  system

The Bureau of Customs and Department of Information and Communications Technology strengthened their partnership through a Memorandum Of Understanding (MOU) in promoting integration, interoperability, and interconnection of their systems and applications, signed on 15 June 2023.

Under the MOU, DICT will assess BOC’s applications and systems; recommend strategies for improving the bureau’s ICT system, develop additional applications if necessary, and ensure smooth integration. PHILEXPORT and e-KONEK ink MOA  for export encoding services

PHILEXPORT and e-KONEK ink Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) for the encoding and lodgement of import and export declarations using e-Konek’s value-added service provider (VASP) system, which connects to the Bureau of Customs’ Electronic-to-Mobile System.

The MOA spells out that e-Konek shall provide project-based encoders to train in submitting export declarations using the e-konek VASP system.  While PHILEXPORT will supply the workspace and consumable office supplies for the service. PNP leads CA-TT Writeshop ahead the BSKE 2023 Elections
