To provide convenience and excellent service to PH exporters, the Tourism Infrastructure and Enterprise Zone Authority (TIEZA) features the online issuance of the Travel Tax Exemption Certificate (TEC). There is no change in the application procedures; exporters shall file their application for travel tax exemption at the authorized recommending agencies: CITEM, DTI-EMB, BITR, and PHILEXPORT for endorsement to EDC, who in turn approves or disapprove the endorsement to TIEZA to be granted TEC.
Exporters now have two options: 1) Get the TEC at the TIEZA Office in Double Dragon, Pasay or 2) Print it in the comfort of their homes or offices. If the latter is preferred, the exporter shall file an online application for the issuance of the TEC, which can be found on the TIEZA website.
As a requirement, the applicant shall attach the approved tax exemption application form signed by the EDC to the TIEZA online platform through this link. TIEZA gives three (3) working days to process the said application. The applicant will receive an email notification about their online TEC application status.
Furthermore, a new TTE application form will be used, effective 15 March 2024. However, the current TTE form will still be accepted until 30 March 2024, as agreed upon and approved by the TTE-Technical Working Group in its meeting on 20 February 2024.
The Travel tax exemption incentivizes Philippine exporters to join international events under Executive Order 589. Exporters may download the new TTE form through this link. MGL
