PEDP REGIONALIZATION

PEDP 2023-2028 cascading in Region XI-Davao City

The Export Development Council (EDC) in collaboration with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) -Export Marketing Bureau (EMB) and Davao Region 11, with support of the Philippine Exporters Confederation, Inc. (PHILEXPORT), conducted the 2nd leg of the Philippine Export Development Plan (PEDP) 2023-2028: Cascading Government Programs and Services on 24 September 2024, at The Pinnacle Hotel and Suites, Davao City.

Deputy Executive Director Elsa De La Paz-Valenzuela of the EDC provided an overview of the EDC’s Role, Achievements, and Ongoing Advocacy. DED Valenzuela, presented the PEDP highlights of Programs Activities and Projects submitted by the 19 Government agencies cited under MC 27

Key government initiatives were also discussed, featuring various DTI Bureaus and Offices, including the EMB’s Programs and Services for exporters, the Bureau of Small and Medium Enterprise Development’s (BSMED) Shared Services Facilities, the Design Center of the Philippines (DCP) design services for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) and ASEAN Regional Integration Support under the EU (ARISE+) Philippines’ program.

The Center for International Trade Expositions and Missions (CITEM) also showcased its Promotional Platforms and Overseas Trade Fair Events and the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines (IPOPHL) Juan for the World Global Trademark Incentive Package for Philippine MSME Exporters. The PHX Source Platform, developed by the QSweep Tech Services, was introduced to boost the global visibility of Philippine exporters.

Experts from other government agencies such as Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Bureau of Customs (BOC) and Department of Agriculture-Bureau of Plant Industry (DA-BPI) held One-on-One Consultation or Export Counselling. Exhibitor booths were available, showcasing products from small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and MSMEs. Participants also engaged in interactive discussions, where they exchanged ideas and experiences related to export challenges and opportunities.

Financing support for exporters and MSMEs were also offered by the DTI-Small Business Corporation (SB Corp.), Land Bank of the Philippines and Development Bank of the Philippines. These loans can be used by exporters and would be exporters for working capital, expansion, or acquiring assets for business development.
