The Export Development Act of 1994 provides that it is the “goal and objective” of the “National Government to provide a macroeconomic policy framework which will ensure that…agricultural policies shall build up viability and competitiveness of the country’s agriculture sectors and facilitate their linkage with industry to strengthen agri-industrial base of the country’s export thrust11”. The EDC Networking Committee on Agricultural Policy shall function as mandated by the Export Development Act of 1994 and to make possible the actualization of this general
principle.
