The Department of Finance (DOF) and the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) clarify their specific roles in the TradeNet. The Anti-Red Tape Authority (ARTA) led by Sec. Ernesto V. Perez, together with Undersecretary Dennis P. Villorente of the DICT, Assistant Secretary Dakila Elteen M. Napao and Director Angelica I. Sarmiento of the DOF, and representatives from the Bureau of Customs and Presidential Management Staff met on a meeting last 04 November 2022, the two agencies explained their respective issues on the draft Memorandum of Agreement (MOA). And as agreed in the MOA, the DICT will oversee the technical maintenance of the TradeNet. At the same time, the DOF will lead the collaboration and coordination of the 73 Trade Regulatory agencies (TRGAs) in the TradeNet.
ARTA issued the Memorandum Circular 2021-01 that provides the guidelines and monitoring of all agencies’ compliance on the mandatory onboarding of TRGAs in the TradeNet.
The TradeNet is the Philippines’ National Single Window (PHNSW) that connects to the Association of Southeast Asian Nations Single Window (ASW). The ASW is a regional initiative to speed up cargo clearance and promote regional economic integration by enabling the electronic exchange of border documents among the 10 ASEAN member states. AGPM
