The Export Development Council (EDC) in partnership with the DTI-Export Marketing Bureau and PHILEXPORT, gears up to cascade the promotion of the Philippine Export Development Plan (PEDP) 2023-2028 in the regions. The EDC will commence the PEDP Regionalization activities starting the latter part of August to middle of November, through a series of Seminars and Workshops at identified top exporting regions in Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao, specifically in (1) NCR, (2) Region III-Pampanga, (3) Region IV-A-Laguna (CALABARZON), (4) Region VI-A-Iloilo City, (5) Region VII-Cebu City, (6) Region X-Cagayan de Oro City, (7) Region XI-Davao City and (8) Region XII-General Santos.
With the theme, “PEDP 2023-2028 Regionalization Roadshow: Towards Making the Philippines an Agile Export Powerhouse”, this event is expected to promote and disseminate among the public and private stakeholders, the strategies and targets set under the plan and lay actions to transform the Philippines into an Agile Export Powerhouse. The plan will implement export strategies and programs to boost export performance and achieve the export target of $240 Billion by the end of 2028.
Mandated by R.A. 7844, The Export Development Act (EDA) of 1994, the EDC shall coordinate, monitor and assess the implementation of the approved PEDP. Concerned government agencies and entities are identified under the PEDP 2023-2028 to collectively work, review, institute reforms, and implement relevant policies in synchronizing with the PEDP and the Philippine Development Plan (PEDP) to boost export growth as follows:
