The Bureau of Customs-Ninoy Aquino International Airport (BOC-NAIA), led by District Collector Atty. Yasmin O. Mapa, convened its first General Assembly with the Customs Industry Consultative and Advisory Council (CICAC) for 2025.
The assembly provided key updates from 2024, highlighting BOC-NAIA’s border protection efforts and the total number of seized goods by commodity from January to December. Confiscated items included drugs, foreign and local currencies, medicines, and other regulated products.
BOC-NAIA also outlined its 2025 initiatives to enhance service efficiency and stakeholder engagement:
- Renovation of the Customer Care Center to improve service delivery.
- Development of a Learning Management System (LMS) with training modules on BOC-NAIA processes.
- Annual symposium with regulatory agencies to strengthen inter-agency coordination.
- Industry-based meetings to address specific customs-related concerns.
- Online customs procedures series to keep stakeholders updated on new issuances.
These efforts reinforce BOC-NAIA’s commitment to streamlining processes, addressing industry concerns, and promoting a more transparent customs environment, ultimately supporting trade facilitation and compliance. Further, EDC through its Networking Committee on Trade Policy and Procedures Simplification (NCTPPS) continues its advocacies for ease of doing business for reduced costs, streamlined processes, and turnaround time.
