The Employers Confederation Of the Philippines (ECOP) celebrated its 44th annual gathering. This year’s National Conference of Employers (NCE) was creatively themed “Human-Centered Transition for a Just and Sustainable Workplace” The forum tackled strategies for creating unique employee experiences and the critical role that employers should play in making this a reality.
Hon. Ferdinand Martin G. Romualdez’s keynote address focused on Enabling Legislations for Just and Sustainable Transitions which highlighted that the Philippine government is developing reforms that foster businesses, captivate investments, and create jobs for Filipinos. With that, he proudly announced that the Philippines is the fastest growing economy in the world.
Secretary Bienvenido E. Laguesma, of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) reported its Labor and Employment Agenda 2023 and Beyond. He also presented the Top Labor and Employment Plan (LEP) 2023-2028 Priorities as follows:
Maximizing Productive, Remunerative, Freely Chosen, and Sustainable Work and Employment Opportunities
Ensuring Labor Governance that Respects all Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work, International Labor Standards and Human Rights Building an Equitable and Inclusive Social Protection
Additionally, Mr. Carlo C. Villacorta, Acting Vice President for Public Affairs and Special Events Division of Social Security Systems (SSS) presented updates on their programs and benefits; featuring their online digital app to be more convenient and accessible to members.
Ms. Enunina V. Mangio, Chair of the Kapatiran sa Industriya (KAPATID) Awards 2023 led the recognition of deserving awardees as follows:
